What is the fate of such a country, which would be land locked!! On one side mischievous Pakistan which would just try to swallow Kashmir as it would change its tune and claim entire territory. Border with China would not be good for any economic activity of transport etc. The only alternative is India. Having wrenched themselves away from India as a separate country, whether the unlikely country of Kashmi can expect cooperation from India?? Their lot would far far far worse than what its now. Why rake up old issues now.<br /><br />Kashmiris stand to gain nothing by pursuing their separatist activity and try to be with Pakistan of all the fellows in the world. Pakistan shall show its true colours (its already showing in POK) if and when Kashmir is a separate country, then it would be too late for the so called agitators of Kashmir who cannot even open their mouth, which they are able to now and there are others in India who are trying to talk on their behalf. Had there been a competent person to handle the situation created by mischievous neighbor, there would not have been a problem. Sardar Patel handled 350 such independent states and got them to join Indian Union. There is no problem with any one of them. Nehru handled only this one and failed miserably. This problem also started from 1989 only. Where was the problem before that?? This problem is getting sustained because of Kashmir&#39;s geographical position with our enemy country.<br /><br />OK as desired by you, if Kashmir becomes an independent Country, do you think they can be independent with the most unreliable neighbours like Pakistan and China on both sides? Its only a matter of months before both these two enemies of India will share Kashmir between them and we shall have border with them from Himchal Pradesh, losing our advantage of Himalayas guarding our Country.<br /><br />Then they would engineer similar agitation, with the help of vested interest groups, in parts of UP, parts of Maharastra and even AP, what shall we do?
